Our history

Cultural intent of the ASBL :

For over 30 years, our non-profit organization has been working in the field of socio-cultural events, with a mission to promote interculturality and encourage artistic, creative and cultural expression.

We believe in the richness of sharing and the diversity of talent. Through our various events, we put the spotlight on visual artists, dancers and musicians by offering them spaces for expression and encounters with the public in a welcoming and original setting. For each of our events, we design a unique upcycling/salvaged-materials scenography, specially imagined for the occasion. As welcoming the public is also one of our priorities, we make it a point of honor to immerse our visitors in a creative and sensory universe.

Always evolving, since 2021 our association has been opening up to new perspectives, notably in the fields of scenography, which we can now offer to other structures such as the Chic-Chac Festival in Verviers, Bad Station and le Cadran in Liège, as well as in fashion design with designer markets.

It was under the impetus of three fashion artists from Liège, members of the Asbl, that the Fashion In Motion project was born: Ericka Doclot “Pitsy Fashion”, Nathalie Kaczkowski “Kawa” and Céline Laurent “Eluccia”. Our initial idea was to showcase a number of Liège-based designers in the textile sector, which hasn’t been in the spotlight for a few years now.

It was when we went out to meet the shopkeepers in the city center that we realized that beyond the presentation of Liege’s designers, there was a real economic issue at stake. The completion of the streetcar project should be a good first step towards reviving tourism in Liège!

Let’s join forces, because the context of this event is also the economic crisis, the reduction in budgets allocated to culture and the difficulty of valuing the work of the arts in terms of remuneration. We are well aware of the ambition of this project and the financial challenges that lie ahead.

Fashion In Motion aims to be ambitious, unifying and long-lasting. A contribution to the renewal of the artistic and cultural landscape of a major city in the Walloon region that certainly needs and wants it: Liège.
